This month’s featured Elementary school in our downtown DeLand Elementary Art Display is Woodward Elementary School
The art teacher of Woodward, Kim Geist, teaches kindergarten through the 5th grade. Mrs. Geist instructs her students on basic drawing techniques and explores all mixed mediums of basic sculpture, fiber art, drawing techniques, and weaving. At the V.W. Gould Agency clay, print making, basic drawing’s and paintings are displayed from k-5 grades.
Mrs. Geist says that her students enjoy a variety of art including everything from ancient Roman to present day. She went on to state that “it’s a pleasure to teach students who are learning and don’t even know it.”
V.W. Gould Agency is celebrating over 100 years of service to Volusia County. People from all over are learning about our future through these youth who are so hard working and talented.
